Bordering Botswana about 3.5 hours drive north-west from Johannesburg or Pretoria, is the Wildlife Nature Reserve of Madikwe. It offers a number of 4- and 5-star private luxury African safari game lodges, and is home to the Big Five. Iti is a malaria-free region and a transition zone between the Bushveld and Kalahari, with mild to hot summer days and cool winter nights.
